Pool Construction Tips

Hi, I'm Mandy. If you're looking for tips on pool construction, you've come to the right place. We've just had a new pool installed and I'm full of advice! When I started on our pool I thought it would be an easy build. Boy, was I wrong. I didn't know anything about building a pool apart from the fact I wanted one. Luckily, our construction company set me straight. They helped me work out how big the pool could be and they showed me which shape would suit our yard space. They sorted out permits and even gave me advice on fencing. To find out what I learned, read through my blog. Hope it helps!

Why You Should Still Take Asbestos Seriously In 2022

by Bessie Beck

Even though it has been over twenty years since asbestos was first phased out of new constructions in Australia, there are still many reasons why you can never be too careful when it comes to protecting yourself from this dangerous fibre. While it might be relegated to the history books when it comes to the construction industry, there are still many old buildings that are littered with asbestos products. Here are a few reasons why you should still take asbestos seriously in 2022 even if you have never previously encountered it and aren't even sure your home has it.

It Comes In Many Shapes And Sizes

It is an important fact to note that asbestos is not found in one particular shape or size. In fact, some of the asbestos in Australia is not found in the traditional batts of insulation that you would find in your attic or wall. Instead, it can be found in everything from your floor to your older car parts. While commonly found in buildings, it is important to note you will probably encounter other materials and machines that are built before 1990 which contain asbestos components. If you aren't sure, then get an asbestos test done as soon as possible!

It Does Not Lose Potency

Asbestos is, unfortunately, quite a long-lasting material which means that even if the house is decades old and you find some asbestos, it still can be as bad for your lungs and health as if it was put in yesterday. That is because the fibres inside the asbestos are what is dangerous, so even if the material on the outside looks old and worn down, all it takes is for a little bit of it to get into your lungs and you could potentially suffer from some quite severe illnesses.

Many Asbestos Removal Companies Around

The simple fact is that there are still quite a few asbestos removal contractors operating all over the country, and they can tell you just how common this fibre really is. These companies still conduct dozens of asbestos removals ranging from major companies and buildings to residential properties. They also exist to turn a profit (just like any other company), which means that there is still quite a lot of asbestos out there that needs to be safely removed and taken away from the general populace by those who know what they are doing and are properly protected.
